The Redmi 11 Prime 5G follows the current trend of smartphones with a flat-frame design, which was popular in 2022. The back panel of the phone curves slightly towards the edges, ensuring a comfortable grip when held. Xiaomi has opted for plastic materials for both the back panel and frame, which is commonly seen in smartphones in this price range.
However, the rear panel has a textured design that provides a good grip. In the variant we received, which is the 6GB RAM model, the Redmi 11 Prime 5G comes in a charming Meadow Green color, which seems to be the standout among the three color options.
A SIM tray with two slots for nano-SIM cards and a third slot for a microSD card is located on the left side of the phone. On the right-hand side, you’ll find the power and volume controls conveniently placed. The buttons are clicky, but in my opinion, they could be a little more pronounced. Near the IR blaster on the top edge, there’s a 3.5mm headphone jack. The USB Type-C port and a single speaker grill are located on the bottom edge.
The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and measures a sizable 6.58 inches. It offers a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. The screen has a Full-HD+ resolution and Widevine L1 certification, which means users can enjoy HD content on streaming platforms like Netflix and Prime Video. Compared to some phones in this segment, one negative aspect of this display is that it uses an IPS LCD instead of AMOLED technology.

However, if you are someone who desires excellent gaming performance at this price, it might disappoint you a bit. While games like Asphalt 9 Legends and Call of Duty: Mobile run fine on basic settings, we did encounter some hiccups during gameplay.
In the Geekbench single-core and multi-core tests, the phone scored 521 and 1757 points, respectively. In the AnTuTu benchmark, the phone scored 337,683 points. The battery life of the phone is commendable, and it should easily last you through a full day of usage with moderate to heavy usage.
Redmi 11 Prime 5G Camera:
The back of the Redmi 11 Prime 5G features a dual-camera setup. It includes a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, but there’s no ultra-wide camera. For selfies, there’s an 8-megapixel front camera.
In well-lit conditions, the primary camera performs quite well, capturing images with good colors and fine details. However, in challenging situations, like low light or with backlit subjects, the camera’s performance is average, and the dynamic range is weaker.
The phone does have a Night mode, but I didn’t find it to be very impressive. In terms of video recording, the device supports 1080p recording at 30fps for both front and rear cameras. Videos shot with the primary camera in daylight show decent colors but lack proper stabilization. In low light, there is noticeable noise in the footage.
